My Mom

Joan Helen Gilliland, my Mom, passed away on 5-4-10. Her little body just couldn't fight anymore. I can't believe she is gone. I guess it's true when people say you really don't understand until it happens to you. I can't think straight, can't finish anything. You know people don't live forever but you are never really prepared. And I live 300 miles away from her, my sister and brother live close to her, so it's got to be worse for them. Going to see her everyday. I am posting pictures of a happier time when we all got together for her birthday.
My Mom was the most caring and sweetest Mom. She cared so much for her family. She had a wonderful life, a great husband, 4 kids. 10 grandkids, 4 great grandkids. She loved to go shopping and make us wonderful dinners. She loved Christmas and holidays and birthdays. She just made everything special. I hope I could be just a little of what she was to everyone. She loved to have family parties, so that's what we are doing this weekend. All the family is getting together at my brother's house and celebrating Mom. It will be very hard not having her there. We will have to special toast in her honor, a vodka martini. She couldn't have many, due to her health but it was her favorite little drink.

I miss you Mom ~ God Bless You

Sending cyber hugs to you right now.

I am so sorry to hear of her passing. It is true that you never know how hard it is to lose a parent until you do. I lost my dad in Sept 04.

This was a great tribute to your mom.
