Yesterday DH & I went down to the beach for a walk in Redondo Beach. It was raining off & on but not bad enough to stay inside. The top picture is looking towards Hermosa Beach and Manhattan Beach, the middle and bottom pictures are Redondo Beach looking towards Palos Verdes. The waves were so big even though you really can't tell in these pictures. The bottom picture above shows how the storms have erroded the beach so you can see the pipes sticking out. Not very pretty. When summer comes they will rake it all up & down the beach and make it look all beautiful again.
On my last post I mentioned the 'Orphaned' puppy, Kayla. Her owners showed up at my house Sunday evening to pick her up. I was quite leary at first because from the info they gave us, it didn't seem like they would be back. But her owner was very happy to see her and I felt good letting her go. So a happy ending!
I'm going to finish it this weekend, if Holly lets me. She has been sick with kennel cough so she is confined to indoors. She is so bored! She constantly come to me and just stares at me! She wants to go outside and play ball. She's obessed with that ball! I must have taken her outside 15 times yesterday. Today is sunny and pretty so she & I are going outside to sit in the sun and get well. Doctor says I need vitamin D. Also I have started a Prairie Schooler Ginderbread Santa. I found all these charts at a LNS that was closing for $1.00 each!
I hope all of you who are stuck inside from snow storms are safe and well. Spring will be here soon!

That flake ornament is on my to do list. I think it's so cute! Looking good, and I'm sorry the beach was rainy.
lovely stitching, and a day on the beach sounds perfect to me.
I love all of the beach photos, I can almost smell the dampness in the air. Looks like you got a good start on the xx. And that Santa is darling, lucky you to get the patterns on sale!
Have a great day!

Even in it's stormy state, the beach is a wonderful sight.
Your stitching is lovely as well.
I miss walking on the beach--when I was a child we owned a duplex on Long Beach Island in NJ (my dad called it "the pension fund" because he was a self-employed contractor :-) and I loved walking on the beach in the early mornings, rain or shine.
I love that design for He's a Flake - I'm looking forward to watching this grow.
Hi Cyndi: I found your blog through the Sampler Life e-mail list, although I haven't posted a note to it in months. Mostly I've been knitting and crocheting and writing, and not doing a whole lot of cross stitch lately.
But I had to post a comment when saw those wonderful pictures of Redondo Beach...my old stomping ground! I lived there during my teenage years and graduated from Redondo High School, and I have many fond memories of that place--some bittersweet, true...but all beautiful.

Oooooooh...love the beach pictures! I wish I were there sitting on that beach instead of sitting in my house facing a blizzard! Your stitching is coming along nicely! Hope you and your furry pal are feeling better soon! *Hugs*
The ocean/beach still looks beautiful even in the winter....sigh.....some day maybe I'll be able to visit it.

Always enjoy looking at beach pictures (my favorite place to be!), so thanks for posting these this month! Hey, we watch the same sunsets, you know: You from CA and me from the Tampabay area in FL! It's been a bit cold down here lately, but hopefully one day this coming week Bob and I will take the camera to walk on the sand. Cute puppy, BYW!
Hi Cyndi! Thanks for visiting my blog and taking the time to leave such a nice comment... I'm always happy to "meet" new stitchers from around the country.
I love seeing your start on "He's a Flake." Think I just might stitch that one, too--he's too cute to resist!
Cyndi, the beach scenes are great, I love the beach and the sound of the waves and the smells. Your "Flake" is coming along nicely.
Oh, how fun! Your ornament is coming along nicely and I can't wait to see what else you'll be working on. It's too bad the LNS went out of business, but how fun to get charts for $1!!!

Glad it had a happy end at least! =)
Great pictures!
